Thank you for posting really excellent question.
We reincarnate for different reasons. First of All, our Planet Earth is an excellent School for our Souls, it provides a great way to learn things.
Indeed, it means, that in Higher Realms the ways of learning are limited, because there is only Love & Light and everything is seen only from that perspective.
Here, on Earth, we need to learn to appreciate Love & Light, because we come in contact with many different things.
That is the reason, why Dyan & me will not be tired to repeat, that all the lessons on Earth, are lessons in Love, even, if it doesn't look that way, while we are in the body. When we have a body to carry around, we vibrate much lower, the energy is much more dense, which makes it not easy for us to stay connected with the Higher Realms.
Another reason for reincarnating is also kind of school to see, if Soul can actually maintain the connection with Higher Realms after having been veiled.
Another reason is to see, if the Soul can appreciate the gift of Free choice and can actually use it.
And another reason it is a gift in a way....
Without the body we couldn't feel the beauty of all our senses, like breathing, smelling, touching, moving...
We would not feel the breeze on our face on the early morning, we would not feel the kiss on our lips from the person we love.
It is just different, and these are just experiences which the Soul comes to learn here....

Tamara this is very eloquently put and yes, thank you, Catcookies. Excellent topic! I suggest that those that want some interesting information on this topic, check out the book "Courageous Souls" by Robert Schwartz. I can offer some further clarification too. If we begin to envision life as multi-dimensional rather than linear, this provides a different perspective. The soul is multi-dimensional and the learning of the soul is multi-dimensional. It's a perhaps a little challenging for us to comprehend since we are living in a linear kind of existence here. This basically means that different aspects of self are existing at the same time and learning and doing different things at the same time. So in essence, reincarnating is sort of a misnomer. Life is continual. Time isn't linear. It's multi-dimensional, although we experience it differently here. Souls come here to accomplish different things. But, yes all here is a learning experience that helps the soul expand and grow and experience and remember and return to oneness through the conflict. If you think about it, without conflict in literature, for example, we don't have a very interesting story. The story is flat and goes nowhere. It's the same here. Being here gives us different perspectives on everything and we take that back to oneness. If you remember the movie "Michael" with John Travolta as the Archangel Michael, you will recall how much he enjoyed being in the physical body. It's a different way of expressing.
