What is a spirit guide and can angels be spirit guides? A spirit guide is a basically just what it says. It's a disincarnate spirit that may or may not have ever incarnated here on Earth and has agreed to guide you on your spiritual journey. Spirit guides change sometimes, just as regular people come and go from your life too.  Angels can choose to be guides, but they are really "angelic guides." Spirit guides are generally not angels. Angels are just different. They have a whole different vibration and frequency. Angels are messengers as well as guides of a sort and also do protect you. Spirit guides and angels do work in concert with one another.
