Weekly Astrology Forecasts

by Joyce Meuse - February 19 to 25

We leave behind the annual wild and wooly cycle of the Sun in the sign of Aquarius as we enter into the more sensitive, creative and emotional time with the Sun in the mutable water sign of Pisces. This week is eventful with Presidents Day on Monday, Mardi Gras and the New Moon both on Tuesday followed by Ash Wednesday lined up in a row.

SUNDAY, FEB 19: The Moon entered the kinky, quirky, oddball sign of Aquarius overnight. It makes an aspect to unpredictable Uranus in the morning and to expansive, extreme Jupiter but not necessarily in a good way. It may take real effort to stick to a plan and not go overboard.

The real highlight of this first day of Pisces is the Sun joining in the same degree as Neptune which has recently returned to this quixotic, romantic and idealistic sign. Everyone needs a strong grounding cord and really good boundaries. The hypersensitivity quotient is extra high and we are all more permeable than usual. The positive side of this is we can tune into the subtle vibrations and experience true spiritual and creative elevation.

MONDAY, FEB 20: What an excellent day we have in the stars for this Presidents Day. We may have to push through an energy hangover left from yesterdays Sun Neptune aspect. We are still adjusting to this brand new era of Neptune in Pisces. The more intuitive among us are adjusting to these new sensitivity levels. We are still finding our sea legs.

Once we are up and going we get the benefit of Venus and the Moon in very happy harmony with each other. It certainly takes the edge off of things. Maybe we are a bit more generous, even tempered and willing to give others the benefit of the doubt. This can be a very romantic aspect as well.

TUESDAY, FEB 21: Today is the important New Moon in Pisces and it is Mardi Gras. Any New Moon gives us the opportunity to write down our intentions for the coming 30 day cycle, our ten best New Moon wishes. The New Moon is exact at 2:35 PM PST, 5:35 PM EST.

Mardi Gras originated as one of a series of carnival days held in all Catholic countries between Epiphany and Ash Wednesday. These carnivals actually had their origins in pre-Christian fertility rites which is maybe why they are so rowdy still. This is regarded as a last chance to indulge in all the carnal senses before the restrictions of Lent begin on the following day.

It is another really good day in the stars. The Moon makes a series of likely good aspects including a joining with Neptune early in the day, the New Moon in the afternoon and a high energy, optimistic Moon Jupiter aspect tonight. People should have a really good time tonight in New Orleans and all the other cities that celebrate the joys of life.

WEDNESDAY, FEB 22: Like driving from the sinning state of Nevada into the religious sober state of Utah, we symbolically leave behind the profane for the holy on Ash Wednesday. Religious or not this IS a beneficial time for cleansing from over indulgences of the past.

The Moon still in Pisces makes a flowing aspect with the will power and control planet Pluto early this morning. This can help us give something up for Lent if we are so inclined. Any self improvement projects like diet, exercise or getting taxes done are benefitted by this.

The Moon joins with the mental planet of communication, Mercury in late afternoon in the West, early evening in the East and we can express ourselves well for awhile. Just until the time we get our first difficult aspect since last Sunday which shows up at 6:24 PM PST, 9:24 PM EST. That is when the Moon opposes Mars which stimulates bickering and antagonism among even the best of friends. Avoid confrontation.

THURSDAY, FEB 23: Today is a good day to pull back and take a break if we can. The Moon is out of aspect almost all day long which means there is no celestial glue helping to hold things together.

This is kind of a free floating day with an unfortunate tendency for arguments to flare up. Mental planet Mercury in Pisces is opposite to anger and antagonistic planet Mars retrograde in critical and judgmental Virgo.

Things do change for the better at 6:48 PM PST, 9:48 PM EST when the Moon enters fire sign Aries. But it may be rather late in the day to make much use of this fresh new energy. Unless you are a happy night owl type than go ahead and jump on those late night projects.

FRIDAY, FEB 24: With the new dawn we get a chance to take advantage of that Moon in Aries giving us some much needed get up and go. The first half of the day is influenced by the Moon and Uranus doing a restless exchange of sudden and unexpected interruptions and events.

Midway through the day the Moon challenges Pluto making things more intense and defiant. On the other hand we can plow through our tasks with more focus and efficiency. The Sun is also joined with the planet of emotional wounds, Chiron. Not a really great night for a romantic date. It is a better night for a cleansing, cathartic emotional release like a good cry.

SATURDAY, FEB 25: We wind up this week on a rare high note. It is another really good day for almost anything. The Sun and lucky planet of optimism Jupiter are in a perfect flowing relationship to each other. Our moods should be buoyant and our humor infectious. Lady luck has come for a visit.

Late morning or early afternoon depending on where you live, the Moon joins with Venus both in Aries and we get an excellent aspect for romance, affection, and going with the flow. This is a great night for a date or socializing with a group or even a few Astrology, Energy Psychology
